We've been thrilled to have guests participate in volunteer service projects during their stay. If you would be interested in
serving the homeless or working with needy children during your
time in Lisbon, please contact Deb:
Opportunities include:
* Every other Tuesday night, Jordan joins Comunidade Vida e Paz,
from 8pm-2am, driving around Lisbon with his volunteer team,
delivering food and friendly conversation to the homeless. (The long-term goal is to build relationships and trust thereby offering
an escape from the streets and into various rehabilitation programs.) Lisbon's homeless
are of differing nationalities and speaking English can be a huge
encouragement to those who are struggling on foreign streets. If you are interested, we can check team availability for any night of the week.
* Throughout the year, local service events are hosted by ServetheCity.
These bi-lingual (English/Portuguese) volunteer projects
include working with an AIDS home for children, urban clean-up projects, support for a home for abandoned children, etc.
